The small print

The small print, in plain English.

How bookings, cancellations, refunds and confidentiality work, and what we expect from everyone at a class. If anything here is unclear, email hello@fuckadvisor.co.uk and ask.

Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: date you publish]

1. Who we are

Fuck Advisor is run by [PLACEHOLDER: Johnny Wood / trading name], [PLACEHOLDER: sole trader, or company name and number]. Postal address: [PLACEHOLDER: business postal address, e.g. a virtual office]. Email: hello@fuckadvisor.co.uk.

2. Booking

  • You can book 1:1 sessions and classes through the booking page. Your booking is confirmed when you get a confirmation email. That's when our agreement starts.
  • You pay in full when you book, by card, through our booking and payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Prices are in pounds sterling and shown on the page when you book. [PLACEHOLDER: "We're not VAT registered, so no VAT is added." Change this if you register for VAT.]
  • Packages: a 3-session package is valid for 3 months from purchase, and a 6-session package for 6 months. Unused sessions expire after that, unless we agree otherwise.
  • The free 15-minute intro call is just a chat to check we're a good fit. No obligation, no hard sell.
  • Online sessions and classes happen by live video call. We'll send the link when you book. Please join from somewhere private where you can talk freely.
  • If you're late, the session still finishes at the booked time. If you haven't joined or arrived 15 minutes after the start and we haven't heard from you, it counts as a missed session.
  • Everything we offer is for adults aged 18 and over. When you book or buy, you confirm you're 18 or over.
  • We can decline a booking if we don't think coaching is right for you, or if someone is looking for ways round a no. If we decline, we refund in full.

3. Your 14-day cooling-off period (sessions and classes)

When you book online, by email or by phone, the law gives you 14 days from the day you book to change your mind and cancel for a full refund. This comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

  • If you'd like a session or class to happen within those 14 days, we'll ask you to confirm that you want it to start early. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we'll refund you, minus a fair amount for anything already delivered (for example, one session out of a package of six, charged at the single-session price).
  • If a booked session has been fully delivered within the 14 days at your request, and you confirmed you understood you'd lose the right to cancel it once it was done, you can't then cancel that session for a refund.
  • To cancel, email hello@fuckadvisor.co.uk and tell us your name and booking. A sentence is fine. You don't have to give a reason.
  • We'll refund you within 14 days of you telling us, to the card you paid with.
  • This sits alongside our own cancellation policy below. Whichever is better for you applies.

4. Cancelling or moving a booking

1:1 sessions

  • More than 48 hours before: cancel for a full refund, or move it for free.
  • Less than 48 hours before: you can move the session once, to a time within the next 4 weeks. No refund (unless you're still within your 14-day cooling-off period).
  • No-shows, or more than 15 minutes late without telling us: the session counts as used.

Group classes (in person and online)

  • More than 48 hours before: cancel for a full refund, or transfer your place to another date for free.
  • Less than 48 hours before: you can transfer your place to another date once. No refund (unless you're still within your 14-day cooling-off period).
  • No-shows: no refund.

Packages

If you change your mind about a package after the cooling-off period, we'll refund any unused sessions. Sessions you've already had are charged at the single-session price, so the package discount only applies if you use the whole package.

If we have to cancel or move

Sometimes we'll need to move a session or class, for example because of illness or a problem with a venue. We'll tell you as early as we can and you can choose: a new date, or a full refund of what you paid for it. If a class doesn't have enough people booked, we'll let you know at least [PLACEHOLDER: 3 days] before and offer the same choice.

5. Refunds

Sessions and classes

As set out in sections 3 and 4. Refunds always go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of being agreed.

Manuals and other digital downloads

  • You normally have 14 days to cancel a digital purchase. But a download can't be un-downloaded, so at checkout we'll ask you to agree that your download can start straight away and that you lose your right to cancel once it starts. We'll confirm this in your order email.
  • If you haven't started the download, you can still cancel within 14 days for a full refund.
  • If a file is faulty, won't open, or isn't what we described, tell us. We'll fix it or send a replacement, and if we can't, we'll refund you. That's your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Asked to leave

If you're asked to leave a class or session for breaking the code of conduct (section 7), your place isn't refunded.

None of this affects your legal rights.

6. Confidentiality

  • What you tell me in a 1:1 session stays between us. I don't share it, and I never talk about clients in a way that could identify them.
  • I keep short notes so I can coach you properly. They're stored securely, only used for your coaching, and deleted as set out in our privacy policy (/privacy). You can ask to see them or have them deleted at any time.
  • There are a few exceptions. I may have to share information if I believe someone is at serious risk of harm, if a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk, or if the law requires it (for example, a court order). Where it's safe and possible, I'll talk to you first.
  • [PLACEHOLDER, optional: "I sometimes talk through anonymised situations with a coaching supervisor. Nothing that identifies you is ever shared." Delete if you don't use supervision.]
  • In group classes, everyone agrees to keep what other people share private. We can't control what other people do, though, so share only what you're comfortable with.
  • Please don't share names or details that could identify anyone you're talking about, in sessions or classes.
  • We don't record sessions or classes, and we ask you not to record them either.

7. Code of conduct for classes

Classes work because everyone in the room feels safe. Consent applies here too. By booking, you agree to the following:

  • Everyone is 18 or over. We may ask for ID at in-person classes.
  • Exercises are talking-based. Nobody is asked to touch anyone, and you can pass on any exercise without explaining why.
  • You never have to share more than you want to.
  • Treat everyone with respect: other attendees, the coach, venue staff, and the people you talk about. No harassment, no sexual comments about anyone in the room, and nothing discriminatory.
  • Frank is fine. Explicit isn't. Keep it non-explicit.
  • What's said in the room stays in the room. No photos, videos or recordings.
  • Don't contact other attendees after a class unless you've both clearly agreed to swap details.
  • Please don't turn up drunk or high.
  • If something makes you uncomfortable, tell the coach at the time or email hello@fuckadvisor.co.uk afterwards. We take every report seriously.
  • If someone breaks these rules, we'll ask them to leave without a refund, and we may refuse future bookings.

8. Adults only (18+)

Fuck Advisor, including the guides, manuals, sessions and classes, is for adults aged 18 and over. The language is frank, but the content is never explicit. If we find out someone under 18 has booked or bought something, we'll cancel it and refund them.

9. Coaching, not therapy

  • Coaching is practical help with skills, habits and confidence. It isn't therapy or counselling, and it isn't medical, psychological, sexual health or legal advice.
  • It isn't a crisis service. Messages aren't answered straight away.
  • We can't promise results with any particular person. Other people get to make their own choices, and that's the point.
  • You're responsible for your own choices. Use what you learn with good judgement and respect for other people.
  • If something heavier comes up, we'll say so honestly and point you towards people qualified to help.

Need help now? If you or someone else is in danger, call 999. For urgent medical help that isn't an emergency, call NHS 111. If you need to talk to someone, Samaritans are free and there day or night on 116 123. You can also text SHOUT to 85258.

10. Complaints

  • If you're not happy, please tell us first so we can put it right. Email hello@fuckadvisor.co.uk with "Complaint" in the subject line, and tell us what happened and what you'd like us to do.
  • We'll reply within 5 working days and aim to sort it out within 14 days. If it'll take longer, we'll tell you why.
  • If we can't agree, we'll tell you in writing and give you details of an independent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, [PLACEHOLDER: name of ADR provider], and whether we're willing to use it.
  • You can also get free, impartial advice from the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133.
  • For complaints about how we handle your personal data, see our privacy policy (/privacy).

11. Changes to these policies

We may update these policies from time to time. The version on this page when you booked or bought is the one that applies to you. These policies are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
